And now for something completely different

This is not your spiffy, grand, and all around swell editor Liz speaking. I am the latest hire on the Toucan staff. I'm Laura, your proud editrice (formerly editrice in training). This means that you now have two people to yell at if you want something changed! The excitement!
I would like to just say a few things about myself so that you don't feel as if a stranger has intruded on your favourite lit mag. I'm not really that new to The Toucan. I was aware of it since before the first issue. Also, Laura:The War is one of my pieces. For those of you who may be thinking 'Oh, well then, we're going to see her in every edition aren't we? What a self centered brat! I need to go find my torch so that I can burn her alive', I really don't intend on this. If you see either Liz's or my work it's probably because we didn't get enough submissions and empty pages are sad pages. The moral of this story is to submit pieces so that you don't have to read our nonsense. As you may have gathered, I'm a bit strange, but I will do everything in my power to make The Toucan a huge success and that all avid readers and casual passersby alike get a kick out of us. Toodles and Viva La Toucan!
Loving Editrice Laura

  1. Ha ha! Actually, you don't sound all that much different from me, in terms of the verbiage, delusions of grandeur...delusions in general. I was reading it and I was like...hmm, why would I have posted "this is NOT Liz"? Excellent job! And people, that is Laura.
