The Hand of Jack the Ripper, Ricky Garni
Handwriting experts hate Jack The Ripper. Or handwriting experts love Jack the Ripper. Jack the Ripper wrote over four hundred letters to the London Police. Or Jack the Ripper didn’t. Jack the Ripper might have written two letters to the London Police, or two hundred and fourteen, or twelve, or zero. The London Police only know this: they received four hundred letters signed “Jack the Ripper.” Jack the Ripper always signed his letters “Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper” although it is also possible that Jack the Ripper never wrote “Yours Truly”, nor did he care to write a thing. In London, 1889, people wrote letters with a florid script, and with an elegance and decorum both beautiful and unusual, but only unusual and only beautiful to us today, here, now - it is our fault. Jack the Ripper says: it’s not my fault.
